Can I use one if I already have and electronic alarm system? |
• Yes, if you want to increase the level of your home security.
• Yes, especially if you turn off the security zone for your bedroom and open your window for fresh air while you sleep.
• Yes, if you want additional security for opened windows.
• Yes, if you have any ground level windows or patio doors that were not secured during your initial security plan and installation.
• Electronic alarms systems are not designed to lock windows or patio doors to prevent unwanted entry. They are designed to activate the moment your security has been breached which could mean an intruder has already gained access into your home. Adding the Window Stick to your home security plan increases your level of home security.
• The Window Stick is designed to lock windows closed and its alarm is activated to deter an intruder while he is still locked safely outside your home before entry is gained. This gives any potential occupants time to take protective action, call the police, and avoid a personal confrontation.

| Where can I buy the battery? |
• Each Window Stick package includes the required 23A 12Volt Battery, which is also used in fire alarms and garage door openers.
• Replacements are most often available from the retail store where you purchased your Window Stick. They are generally available at most hardware stores, home centers, and superstores such as Home Hardware, Ace Hardware, True Value Hardware, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Rona, Wal-Mart, and Target etc. Some smaller stores with a limited selection of inventory may not carry this item.

| My patio door is installed backwards; will the Window Stick still work? |
• Yes. You will require our Universal Clip accessory to enable the Window Stick to work in your outside sliding patio door.
• Note: These patio doors are not installed backwards. They were designed this way to repel water and moister that is blown up against your home by the wind. The problem with this design is that they are not very secure. Fortunately most manufacturers no longer build patio doors this way. If you have an outside slider in your home, go to our “Home Security Tips” link on our website now and learn how to better secure these types of patio doors and windows.
